LPS Approves New Calendar
by Rachel Post
On Feb. 8, the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 calendars that include PLC (Professional Learning Communities) time, were approved by the Board of Education. The calendar chosen has 10 Wednesdays with two-hour delays to allow teachers conference time.
During the PLC time, teachers will analyze test results and develop new ideas that will help them teach their students more effectively.
In order to have the same instruction time, seven minutes will be added to each school day and three non-student days will be eliminated. The school year will begin and end as usual.
